LWYL is a movement that encourages Detroiters to do better and not litter. We must acknowledge that we are participating in this unconscious behavior, and it's time for a shift in our consciousness.. The broken glass theory suggests that visible signs of crime, antisocial behavior, and civil disorder create an urban environment that encourages further crime and disorder. This theory perpetuates unconscious behavior among the residents We all have a vested interest in creating a clean, safe environment for our families and businesses to thrive and grow. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to takeback our neighborhoods and communities to make Detroit great again!.
LWYL was born out of frustration. As a city, Detroiters say we have the most pride, but if we do, why do our streets look the way they do? LWYL was born out of frustration. As a city, Detroiters say we have the most pride, but if we do, why do our streets look the way they do? When it comes to trash on the streets, residents are largely responsible for the trash on our streets. LWYL is dedicated to restoring community pride from the ground up! Not only is it an eye-sore, but it also effects our environment, and our economy. Through education, social initiatives, and living by example, we can stop littering for good.
Our team is made up other community organizations that share our mission. We are better and stronger when we work together!
